I believe it’s essential to establish a trusting working relationship with a recruiter early in your career. By doing so, a recruiter truly gets to know you over time, and tailor a search specifically to your interests and long-term career goals. When I was an associate, I established such a relationship with a Momentum recruiter and made a very successful move in my career. When I was ready to leave the practice of law, the relationship I continued to have with my recruiter led to me joining the Momentum team.

Andrew Merten is a Director of Recruiting at Momentum Search Group. He also serves as the company’s Director of Communications.

Andy has experience working with the leading practices for technology, IP, litigation, privacy, media, and entertainment in New York, California, and all other major markets. Before joining Momentum, he practiced commercial litigation at Proskauer Rose and Morrison Cohen. Andy’s seven years of experience at both a major global law firm and the leading midsize firm in NYC has given him unique insight into the lateral experience and an ability to counsel attorneys at all levels regarding long-term career planning.

Andy graduated from The George Washington University with a B.A. in Political Science. He received his J.D. from the University of Southern California School of Law, where he served on the Southern California Law Review and worked in a legal clinic representing inmates at the California Institute for Women in parole hearing and habeas proceedings. Outside of work, Andy sits on the Board of Directors and the Judicial Screening Committee of the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York. He enjoys running half marathons, reading, and traveling overseas.
